The Trailer is out!!!

In June, we shot a trailer for “Tears in Rain”. We are now able to proudly present it to you. If you like our idea and our film, we would be happy to win you as a supporter of our project. Through the crowd funding on Startnext we hope to raise the money needed to rent a rain machine. Only by using the rain machine we are able to realize the film in its truest sense.

It’s raining!!

What a treat. The weather is on our side. At 2:56am it started to rain and director Marco Theophil is REALLY happy.

Update from the Set

It has been quite a while since we last posted an update on our film blog. Nevertheless, we have many exciting news for you. Starting with the most important one: We are shooting a trailer of Tears in Rain tonight. In fact, this blog post is written directly from the film set. Two very different people – Emilia and Shah -  whose destinies are tragically intertwined meet at a dark summer night in Berlin. Their dream of a happy life is put in question when they become involved in an unexpected accident that turns their lives upside down and forces them to confront their innermost fears and desires. If you want to know more about how Shah and Emilia’s struggles to escape emotional isolation, stay tuned. You will soon get a chance to watch the trailer on this blog.

Another important news we want to let you know about is that we decided to postpone the principle photography of Tears in Rain to September. We want to make the film an even better one. This means not computerizing on mediocre decisions but aim for the best. So we decided to spend more time on finding the ideal film locations. We are using the extra two months to approach sponsors and supporters. As of right now, this decision has turned out to be just the right thing to do. Last week, the car rental company Hertz has agreed to support our project. Hertz will sponsor a van for the film equipment for the entire shooting period. We are very thankful for the support! Big shout out to Hertz from the entire cast and crew!

The “Tears in Rain” team proudly presents the teaser of “Tears in Rain”. As a special gimmick you’ll not only get a chance to enjoy a first glimpse into the world of “Tears in Rain” but also listen to director Marco Theophil. We are looking forward to your feedback and comments!

Call for Your Help!!!

Dear friends and supporters of Tears in Rain!

We have put together a short informational package to provide you with all the facts you need to know about Tears in Rain.Principal photography is scheduled to start June 20, but only if we are able to secure the remaining financial means through fundraising and sponsoring.

The amount that has yet to be gathered still sums up to € 1250, – and is absolutely needed to make “Tears in Rain” happen at all. To be able to raise the needed money we have started crowdfunding on Inkubato and are getting in touch with possible sponsors on both sides of the Atlantic.

To absolutely honest, it is still touch-and-go whether Tears in Rain will be shot any time soon. If we are not able raise at least € 1250 by June 19, this great project will be put on hold until further notice.

We know, money is shot, but we’d thank you with our unlimited gratitude, if you’d support Tears in Rain with a donation.

Meet the Team: The Executive Producer

Welcome to our second edition of the blog post series “Meet the Team”. Over the next few weeks, we want to tell you a bit about the team behind “Tears in Rain”. Today, we’ll introduce you to Steffen Hahmann, the Executive Producer.

I enjoy enabling filmmakers to work creatively in a well organized environment. That’s exactly why I joined the “Tears in Rain” crew. I am striving to create a harmonic and well-organized production environment.

Taking on the role as executive producer of „Tears in Rain“, the multi talented Steffen Hahmann lives out to his biggest passion: organizing and solving problems at a time no one else has seen them coming. According to Steffen, he “has done it all in film” – acting, directing, camera and script writing. But only producing films is his true passion.

Meet the Team: The Writer and Director

Welcome to our new blog post series “Meet the Team”. Over the next few weeks, we want to tell you a bit about the team behind “Tears in Rain”. We’ll start with Marco Theophil, the director and screenwriter of “Tears in Rain”.

“Tears in Rain” is my passion. I am doing my uttermost to make my melancholic, dark vision come true and share it with everyone. I strive to tell a captivating story that is meaningful as well as entertaining.

Marco makes films out of passion. He is the creative mastermind behind “Tears in Rain”. Before filmmaking put a spell on him, he studied American Film Studies, had a try at acting and fell in love with dramatic arts right away. Later he worked on several short films. Since 2010 he has been a part of the Filmarche directing seminar in Berlin.
